Ashgabat hosts Turkmenistan's Oil and Gas exhibition and conference

A three-day international exhibition and conference 'Turkmenistan's Oil and Gas' (OGT-2013) , organised by the Oil and Gas Ministry, the Chamber of Commerce of the country and with the participation of British Summit Trade Events Ltd. has opened in Ashgabat today.

The main theme of the conference is 'International cooperation in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan: the potential, achievements and priorities'.

According to the event organisers, representatives of the world's business circles at the forum will receive information on the prospects of the oil and gas industry. They will have the opportunity to determine the forms of future cooperation and examine the investment opportunities in relation to the Turkmen market.

The heads of the Turkmen oil and gas complex, international oil and gas and service companies, equipment manufacturers and financial organisations will participate at the conference.

Turkmenistan holds second place in the natural gas reserves in the CIS after Russia. Currently supplies are made to Russia, Iran and China. According to the Turkmen Oil and Gas Industry Development Programme, it is planned to bring the annual natural gas production to 250 billion cubic meters of oil up to 110 million tons by 2030.

The exhibition is being held within the conference. Information will be obtained about those companies and state-owned enterprises operating in various fields including exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources, development of deposits, supply of drilling equipment and technology from leading manufacturers, oil and gas transportation and storage and processing.
